Hada, meet Jada.

Ok... we have just subscribed to the cartoon channels on Astro and both my darlings are actually watching Clifford on Disney right now. Errmmm... by way of 'darlings', I meant the one and my 12-year old who has just finished his UPSR exams yesterday.

Surprisingly, little jj wasn't up this morning like she did for the past 2 days. I accidentally slept while feeding her around 3 am and woke up at 5.15am, almost missing our sahur. Thankfully, sahur was already cooked by midnight last night or else we would probably be eating McDonald's again :)

Hokayy... I've been a little 'slow' in my updates recently as I've been plagued by Farmville addiction on Facebook (hahahh!). I was told before how addictive this game can be and never really bothered to try it out until I saw 3 Farmville gifts from my dear cousin, Fida, who's far away in the UK. Once I started, there was no turning back and I even questioned myself why I didn't start earlier as I have missed out on a lot of rewards and wealth-sharing from friends who've started playing it long time ago hehe... yup, i t - i s - b a d, especially when you're also juggling puasa, a little baby, work and housework ;P

5 days of playing, I am already at Level 16 and managed to pull the one into it as well ;P the worst was us fidgeting after breaking fast in Keramat last Sunday as we didn't get to log in to monitor our crops haha.

Anyways, latest developments.......

| Jada has started to sing along to some of her favourite tunes! Our eyes would open so wide when we hear her attempts as her pronunciation is pretty inaudible although the melody part would sound not too bad :) sorry guys... no videos on this yet since she'd surprise us all when she does this and as soon as we realised what she did, we'd all give her one good stare and she'd stop immediately hehe.

hello, world... meet Hada, Jada's new pet ;P

| I just cannot resist Hada the Hippo. Found it on TinyTapir and was hooked when I read that its blanket is 5 feet long (because if little jj doesn't use it, I am exactly 5 feet tall haha...).

Ok... little jj hasn't been showing any tendencies of attachment towards any of her soft toys. She has plenty of soft toys but after she turned 6 or 7 months, she has stopped holding any soft toy for more than 3 minutes. Her favourite was once Tucker, the Lamaze tortoise but I now realised that she loved Tucker only because she was truly enchanted by her own reflection that she saw in the mirror attached to its tummy. And although my first born and I both had an attachment towards any teddies or any plush toys, we do not see any of those signs on little jj. Heck, even that thoughtful gift from one of the one's blog readers in the form of a red teddy bear the size of little jj, she only held it for a good minute before ignoring it since the day she saw it. It is bad that the teddy is kinda invisible (to her) and just lying there in her play pen, unattended.

So, when I saw this pink pet zoobie, I haven't lost all hope on little jj. I do believe she's got it somewhere deep inside (hehe...) or mommy would make it mommy's own pet ;P. I guess, part of me fell in love with Hada because I love all 'gadgety' stuff - it is after all, a 3-in-1. If little jj cannot see it for a soft toy, she would have inherited her parents' trait for loving multi-functional gadgets, won't she??

you can even commission TinyTapir to have your baby's
name embroidered on the plush at an additional RM10.

| My current love for gold jewellery has brought me to custom make the anniversary gift from the one. Yes people, our gifts to each other are hardly surprises (although the surprise would come in the form of emotions that entail any purchases hehe). I think I've mentioned before that I hate mind games and I dislike being disappointed with unreasonable expectations. And the one also agrees to this so that we'd get each other something that we both really want, not based on subtle hints. So, with my obvious new interest in gold, the one gave me a budget for the anniversary gift he owed me and I instantly knew the time has come to replace that charm bracelet I've always loved which was a gift from my granny for my first birthday - it was placed on my foot and later on my hand as I grew bigger. Guess that piece of classic bracelet can now be handed down to little jj.

I had to wait 3 months before getting it done since the budget that the one gave me was insufficient which I had found out when getting a quote from my favourite jeweller. I mean, the budget seemed good enough for me but not necessarily so, for the piece of bracelet that I require especially since price of gold has gone up quite rapidly. See... the bracelet has several elements that are meaningful throughout our 4-year journey together (and more to come!). And when it was insufficient, I had decided to wait awhile so that I am able to top up the amount when I get my next payment for some jobs that were already completed, or even maybe have the chance to top up the amount when I get my next hardship allowance from the one ;)

So yesterday, I beamed with happiness for the next piece of meaningful and lasting composition that will act as a simple collector of future gift ideas as it has 8 more tiny rings and 11 elongated hoops to hang 50 more charms. That's another 50 more years of celebration, don't you think? =D

at the moment, i am happy with my J, the Tous bear and
the symbol of our love for each other which has an inscription at the back of it :)

I have plenty more to write but will end here, for now, with hopes to update more before Raya comes. Hope is good.

P/S: just a sneak preview below - I put on a sample of a hand-smocked dress for a writing job I had just completed for an e-commerce website. The dresses are awesome, I kid you not and my N86 8MP doesn't do justice to the dress (especially since little jj was wearing her bodysuit inside). I shall update you mommies out there once the website is up because your little girl should not miss out on wearing at least one of the dresses :)

mommy, this dress is too dark for my complexion... do you have one in pink?

Selamat Hari Raya.

I have been slacking in the updating department… I’d wanted to update this blog of mine since ages ago…. honest… I mean, this blog is like a journal to me so much so that when Muz asked me when I shaved little jj’s head clean, I told him that I didn’t quite remember and that he should refer to this blog as I mentioned about it here. Heh.

There were just oh so many things that I wanted to write back from the final week of puasa but the funny part was, I had actually miscalculated the date on the calendar which saw me rushing mad for my own baju raya when I realised I only had a few days to sew my baju kebaya… mind you, I only had a few hours during the day after the one comes home from work and the final weekend was totally off since we hosted berbuka puasa sessions for very close friends. Hence, all in all, it was a mad mad rush completing only one baju. Hmmm… the one did say I was too ambitious in wanting to do up 2 bajus. Making one with a silky material that needed lining was one challenging project which I managed to almost complete it at 5pm eve of Raya, rushed to handwash it and air it to dry before heading for the Raffali’s home and did the final touches to the sleeves when we returned from Keramat up til 1am. Gosh… I wouldn’t want to go thru that again.

And, upon realising that I have my cousin and a friend’s wedding to attend in 2 more weeks, I had to do up another baju since I can no longer fit into my previous kurungs or kebayas due to the much bigger bustline *ehem* and curvier hips. Eheh. And, although it is much easier making baju kurung, unfortunately it is not very breasfeeding-friendly.

So, as of tonight, I had just finished up another baju with the additional beadworks.

I - am - tired.
So… back to what I wanted to update… I want to thank my friends who came over on the Saturday and Sunday before Raya for our berbuka session. Gosh… it’s so different now that all of our lives have changed… but I guess in a good friendship, one would make time for each other especially if we are able to meet up only once in a blue moon.

On Saturday we had Nazrul, Acai (with wife Sheena and cute Arissa) and Reza for our annual berbuka puasa. It has always been at Naz’s for a nice gathering but we decided to make it at ours this year. Acai came all the way from Seremban and we couldn’t get enough of their oh so adorable one-year-old daughter especially after she showered and came out with her hair looking like a Persian cat after a bath. It was a good catching up session and our apartment sounded so much like a nursery….

bad hair day. but only after the shower ;P

Since I had my friends over on Saturday, Sunday was for the one’s closest pals, Ahmad, Azlan and the lovely couple, Muz and Eju with their Noah who’s only 2 weeks older than our precious. We also kinda celebrated Muz’s belated birthday and Eju brought 2 boxes of what could be the most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever tasted! It is so yummy and oh so delightful. The icing on the cupcakes is just so perfect to my tastebuds and unlike those fatty icing on most cakes where you’d get that ‘sick’ feeling after a couple of bites. They’re smooth and heavenly and just the right sweetness. I tried 2 oreos and one ala-black forest. Oh my god… thinking about it now make me salivate ;P

our chubby cheeks with Noah. wait... are they holding hands already??!

Ahmad, being the perfect gentleman (as always), cooked us yummilicious dishes that I wished I had single girlfriends whom I could invite for them to see what a good catch this guy is :D

Come Raya, it was my turn at my parents'. Little jj didn’t behave that well and went all cranky. She, however was so well behaved on the second day of Raya when we went shopping at 1-Utama and Sunway Pyramid. The one kept asking me if the shops are opened and I assured him that they would. Little jj was at her best behaviour and we managed to have a good lunch at Chilli’s. I also had a good treat when the one asked me what he could get me for that bonus he received. He’s so sweet la… and I count my blessings since no man (apart from daddy-o) has ever treated me this way…

our raya shot sans the little munchkin as he was busy with his cousins at the PSII... kids...

He asked me what I wanted and seriously, I didn’t have anything on my wish list. Well… apart from the LV diaper bag which is so out-dated now hehe…

Shoes?? I have so many that I haven’t even worn those 3 pairs of Charles and Keith that I bought in my last Singapore visit when I was 4 months pregnant.

Bags?? Who am I kidding? I have traded the LV neverfull for that cheap and chic Kiko diaper bag someone gave me at little jj’s birth.

Clothes?? I still have so many which cannot fit me and I am still wearing those maternity tops…I would definitely love to get dresses from my favourite brand, Phenomenal by Melinda Looi but with this hips??... I don't think any of her dresses would fit me.

I did think of sexy lingeries from La Senza but I hardly wear them since I would still need to wear those unsexy nursing brassieres… defits the purpose, eh? Don't they have any sexy yet comfy nursing bras? I know they have one in Singapore... or is it Aussie? Hmmm...

Skincare/make ups?? Not lasting. Plus, I still have plenty.

I can’t think of anything else… except for jewellery, which I can live without.

It was a long session of deliberating what I want when the one asked me to check out the latest camera phones. As I am happy with the 6120 classic he gave me in return for the E90 I was using before, I didn’t feel I need a new phone. Seriously, I have everything I wanted. But since he promoted the subject of getting a separate digital camera which I disagreed as we’d need to charge it, an additional stuff in my handbag which we may not use that often, bla bla bla, I agreed to check out the phones and he sold me on the N82.

Initially, I was more keen on the E-series since I am so used to the features and functionality of a business phone… plus, the E66, especially, is oh so gorgeous that I fell in love with it instantly. But… since it only has a 3.2mp camera, which is not why we wanted to change my phone in the first place, I agreed to the N82 after much hesitation. That also after the sales person showed me the sexy faux-leather outer cover that he was going to give me with the purchase. Thus, the unsexy phone turned quite gorgeous in the end. Plus, with the functionalities and features aplenty, the 5 mp camera was definitely a bonus.

And with that purchase, the one announced that he was getting that Nintendo DS. Like whoa… I was already very happy when he told me he was selling his PSP. Little did I know that he’d get another gaming matter… guess my excitement was short-lived. But hey… it’s his bonus, and I guess he should reward himself for the hard work. My only hope is that he’d not get too pre-occupied with the device and forgets everything else.

Well, all in all, we had a good day that day and with little jj well-behaved, the day was just perfect.

Since we were out almost everyday from the weekend before Raya, she got all cranky on the 3rd day of Raya… cried a lot except when we tricked her into sitting in her carseat, thinking that we were going out hehe… she’s smart. She kept quiet immediately until she realised we weren’t going anywhere ;)

i am ready to go out... i'm a good girl mommy.... daddy... heee....

She’s been quite a challenge since as she gets in and out of crankiness. I didn't think I'd ever say this but it can be quite frustrating when you have so much milk! I always thought it is a gift that I have so much milk, so much so that it comes out sharp when she suckles. I am grateful for it. However, it proves to be very problematic for her as it gets too much and she'd get choked with the plentiful flow. Recently, she's learnt to cry and cry out loud... almost shrilling... when she gets angry at the flow. I've tried many methods but my milk letdown is pretty intense. We even tried getting her on the bottle but she prefers naturel...

We’ve got quite a few events to attend this weekend and next week’s full with weddings, and we hope she’d behave in public. But, that is quite unexpected coming from a baby who’s only coming to her 3-months. And, it is so hard to behave when she's hungry but phobic with my boobies... Since she’s so cute, I guess we could excuse her for she can only cry… and... we know she'll really drink when she's really hungry...

Well, I don’t know what else to write. I’m so sleepy and tired from the day’s chore… and my head is currently filled with those delicious cupcakes. Ooohhh…
